Pyramid Wilmar, a key player in Sri Lanka’s food manufacturing and marketing industry, marked its 20th anniversary, on the 21st of August 2025, with a Press Conference held at Shangri-La Colombo.
At the event, Pyramid Wilmar’s leadership highlighted the company’s commitment to Sri Lanka’s economic and social development. Managing Director Mr. Sajjad Mawzoon emphasized that the company’s journey has been about “building a better, brighter future for every Sri Lankan,” not just business. He also reaffirmed Pyramid Wilmar’s dedication to quality, sustainability, and innovation. Looking forward to the next 20 years of Pyramid Wilmar’s excellence in Sri Lanka, Mr. Mawzoon expressed his ambitions of seeing Sri Lanka changing from a “developing country, to a developed country”.
Director and Chief Operating Officer Mr. Thanveer Siddique added that the company’s success is rooted in its integrated supply chain, which ensures operational synergies from “plantation to processing and logistics.” He expressed pride in the company’s partnerships with various stakeholders, which have been vital to its growth.
The panel discussion held at the event expressed views on the company’s journey and the marketing strategies in achieving this milestone.
Industry stakeholders from the Chefs Guild of Lanka, NAITA, and Media were present at the celebrations. The launch of “ChefsHunt”, showcased Pyramid Wilmar’s continuous partnership with Sri Lanka and its people. This initiative aims to find local culinary talent and offers a pathway to pursue their ambitions.
